I took this shot from the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain, near the entrance of the NORAD Cheyenne Mountain complex, looking east towards Colorado Springs, with a Canon 70D and a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX lens.

This was my second ever attempt at photographing star trails, and the first from a dark site. I took this photo at he Paint Mines Open Space in Calhan, Colorado, with a a Canon 70D and and a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX lens. There's an airport nearby, so you can see a few planes passing through the shot.

This was my first ever attempt at star trails, taken in February 2016, on the small bluffs behind my old apartment complex, under the light polluted skies of Colorado Springs. I took this photo with a Canon 70D and Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX lens.

Star trails from within the rock formations at the Paint Mines Open Space in Calhan, Colorado. This shot consists of one light-painted photo of the foreground to illuminate the rock formations and highlight their distinct colors, and more than 100 long exposure shots of the sky to produce the trailing effect of the stars. Taken with a Canon 70D and a Rokinon HD8M-C 8mm f/3.5 HD fisheye lens.
